What if I forgot my mobile or online banking password?

Follow these steps to easily reset your password from the login screen

Online banking steps:

  1. Select Get login help then choose Reset password/
  2. Follow the Reset Password process (Identify - Verify - Complete).
  3. Enter New Password and Re-enter New Password and select Next.
  4. A confirmation screen will display. Select Continue to be automatically logged in.

U.S. Bank Mobile App steps:

For the best mobile banking experience, we recommend logging in or downloading the U.S. Bank Mobile App.

  1. Select Get login help on the login page.
  2.  Enter your phone number and the last 4 digits of your social security number then select Continue.
  3. We will send a One-time passcode to the number provided. Enter it and select Continue.

    Note: Select Try another way to use your PIN instead.

  4. Next your personal ID will be displayed. Select Login to complete login, or select Reset password to choose a new password. 
  5. If you selected Reset Password you will now be prompted to select a new password. No additional verification is required.
  6. You can then choose to set up biometric login if your device qualifies. Otherwise select Login to return to the login page. 

Additional information:

Available verification options includes a PIN or SMS text. 
  • The PIN option will prompt an ID Shield question once the PIN is entered. 
  • The SMS text option requires the primary mobile number to be registered on the profile for at least three business days.
Passwords must meet the following criteria: 
  • 8-24 characters in length, including both letters and numbers. 
  • No spaces. 
  • May include at least one special character (i.e. %, $, &).
