Our goal setting tool can help you set money aside for something special. It’s easy to get started using a new or existing savings account. Here’s how:

How to set a goal in online banking

  1. Select My account at the top of the page, then choose My goals.
  2. Choose Set a goal, select one from the list or customize it by selecting Other. Then, choose Continue.
  3. Enter your goal's name, the total amount to reach, and what date you want to achieve your goal. Select Continue.
  4. Under Next step choose Step 1 Connect my goal to an account.
  5. Select an existing savings account or choose to open a new account, then select Continue.
  6. Choose Step 2 Create my initial goal funding plan to start a recurring transfer.
  7. Select the from account, transfer amount, frequency and start date. Then choose Confirm.
  8. Your goal is now set up. You can have up to 10 goals per savings account.

How to set a goal in U.S. Bank Mobile App  

  1. Start by scrolling to the bottom of the dashboard and select Create a goal. 
  2. Select a goal from the list or customize your own by selecting Other. Then, choose Continue.
  3. Enter your goal's name, the total amount to reach, and what date you want to achieve your goal. Select Continue.
  4. Under Next step choose Step 1 Connect my goal to an account.
  5. Select an existing savings account or choose to open a new account, then select Continue.
  6. Choose Step 2 Create my initial goal funding plan to start a recurring transfer.
  7. Select the from account, transfer amount, frequency and start date. Then choose Confirm.
