Can I remove a joint-owner from my consumer account?

Once a person has agreed to become a joint owner or signer on a checking, savings, or credit card, they can't be removed from the account.

If you want an account in your name only, you'll need to close the account and apply for a new one. We do make exceptions if the person in question is deceased.
