How do I customize my purchase categories?

Anytime that you feel like your category listed is incorrect for your spend tracking, you can update it to the category you would like. Choose the best experience for you below. 

Online banking steps:

To get started, log in to online banking and follow the below steps:

  1. From the main dashboard select the account of which you would like to change the transaction category
  2. Locate and select the transaction that the category is listed under.
  3. Once the transaction details appear, under Merchant Info select the pencil icon to the right of the category. 
  4. Choose your new category and/or subcategory from the drop-down arrow. Check the box if you would like to apply this change for the next 180 day and select Save.

U.S. Bank Mobile App steps:

  1. From the main dashboard select the account of which you would like to change the transaction category
  2. Locate and select the transaction that the category is listed under.
  3. Once the transaction details appear, under Category tap on the category listed to make the change.
  4. Choose your new category and/or subcategory from the drop-down arrow. Check the box if you would like to apply this change for the next 180 day and select Save.
