Online Statements FAQs

Find answers to some of the most common questions about Online Statements.

Online Statements are electronic (PDF) versions of your account statements found within U.S. Bank Online Banking. Online Statements contain all of the same account information as paper statements – the key difference is that they’re delivered online instead of through the U.S. Mail.

  • Online Statements are available for the following products:

    • Checking, savings and money market accounts. (For these accounts, signing up for Online Statements also signs you up for online Letters and Notices).
    • Consumer loan and home equity line of credit accounts
    • Consumer lease accounts not set up for automatic payments
    • Small business loan and line accounts
    • Consumer and small business credit card, charge card, credit line, Premier Line, Premier Line Plus and investment equity line of credit accounts
  • An email and/or text message will be sent to the address(es) you specify, and a message will be sent to your Message Center within U.S. Bank Online Banking each time you have a new statement available for viewing.

  • No. Online Statements are FREE.
  • Online Statements contain the same account information as your paper statements, with the following exceptions:

    • Checking, savings and money market accounts: If you currently receive information for multiple accounts on your paper statement, when you enroll for Online Statements Only you will begin to receive separate Online Statements for your Checking, Savings or Money Market accounts, and you will receive paper statements for each of your other accounts. Summary information for CDs, loans, credit cards and lines of credit will no longer appear on your statement.
    • Consumer loan, lease, and home equity line of credit accounts: The coupon at the bottom of your paper statement will not be included in your Online Statement.
    • Small business loan and line accounts: The coupon at the bottom of your paper statement will not be included in your Online Statement.
    • Checking, savings and money market accounts: You automatically receive paper statements. If you enroll in Online Statements Only, you will no longer receive paper statements and most Letters and Notices.
    • Consumer loan and home equity line of credit accounts: You automatically receive paper statements. If you enroll in Online Statements Only, you will no longer receive paper statements.
    • Small Business loan and line accounts: You automatically receive both paper statements and Online Statements.
    • Consumer and small business credit card, charge card, credit line, Premier Line, Premier Line Plus and investment equity line of credit accounts: You automatically receive both paper statements and Online Statements. If you enroll in Online Statements Only, you will no longer receive paper statements.
  • Online Statements refers to the electronic, PDF-formatted version of your account statement found within U.S. Bank Online Banking.

    Online Statements Only is an account feature you can enroll for within U.S. Bank Online Banking. When you enroll for Online Statements Only, you will stop receiving your paper statement, and receive your statement online only. You will also receive an Online Statement Account Alert each time you have a new Online Statement available.

  • Your canceled checks will no longer be mailed back to you; however, canceled checks and deposit slip images can be easily accessed online through U.S. Bank Online Banking.
    • Checking, savings and money market accounts: No. Statements issued prior to your Online Statements Only enrollment will not be available for online viewing. Following your enrollment in Online Statements Only you can accumulate up to 7 ye ars of Online Statements.
    • Consumer loan and home equity line of credit accounts: Yes. Up to 7 years of statements are immediately available for online viewing following your enrollment in Online Statements Only.
    • Small Business loan and line accounts: You automatically receive Online Statements. Up to 7 years of statements are available for online viewing.
    • Consumer and small business credit card, charge card, credit line, Premier Line, Premier Line Plus and investment equity line of credit accounts: Yes. Up to 7 years of statements are available for online viewing.
    • Checking checking, savings and money market accounts: You can order copies of past statements, canceled checks or deposit slips online through our Self Service page. Refer to Consumer or Small Business Pricing Information brochures for applicable fees.
    • Consumer and small business credit card, charge card, credit line, Premier Line, Premier Line Plus and investment equity line of credit accounts: You can order copies of past statements online through our Self Service page, by selecting “Request Copy of Statement”. You may be charged a fee for this service. If fees apply you will be notified prior to completing your transaction.
    • All other accounts: You can order copies of past statements by calling 800-US BANKS (800-872-2657). For TDD service, please call 800-865-5065.
  • Letters and Notices are important notifications triggered by specific account events. They include:

    • Overdraft notices
    • Savings withdrawal limits
    • Other account notifications

    Starting in August 2013, when you enroll for Online Statements for Checking, Savings and Money Market accounts you will automatically receive online Letters and Notices.

    If you enrolled for Online Statements for Checking, Savings and Money Market accounts prior to August 2013, you do not automatically receive online Letters and Notices for those accounts. To sign up:

    • Select My Documents at the top of the page and then select Letters and Notices.
    • Under Enroll for Letters and Notices the page displays any eligible accounts that are not signed up for Letters and Notices, along with an enrollment link that you can use to sign up.
