Team launches new learning platform, events to renew development focus

Throughout 2024, the U.S. Bank Global Learning and Development team is working to bring a greater focus to helping team members identify their interests, build skills for their current jobs and think about what they want out of future roles.

“When team members personalize their development, they’re investing in a career where they will excel and help our clients reach their goals as well,” said Elcio Barcelos, chief Human Resources officer.

Earlier this month, the Learning and Development team launched a new learning experience platform giving employees access to training courses on thousands of topics such as strengthening communication skills, wellness, building expertise in various software programs, learning about products and building a professional brand.

Learning and Development hosted the first enterprise-wide Development Day on April 10 to show U.S. Bank team members how the new platform can help them build new skills for their current and aspirational roles.

During the event, subject matter experts gave presentations on career development, language learning, leadership, personal branding, products, wellness, and diversity, equity and inclusion. Thousands of team members from around the world gathered to watch the sessions and learn how to integrate courses from the platform into their daily work and career planning.

“We’ve received outstanding feedback from team members, and I’m proud to work for a company that puts our people and their desire to power potential first,” said Shawn Lewis, chief learning officer.

Going forward, Learning and Development will continue to expand offerings on the learning experience platform to address ever-changing business and team member needs. The team also plans to host additional development-focused events throughout the year to help team members continue growing for whatever comes next in their careers.
