Which accounts are eligible to send and receive external transfers?

Great News! Your U.S. Bank personal and business checking, savings, and money market accounts are already eligible.

Most external checking, savings, and money market accounts are eligible, along with some brokerage accounts at select institutions. For non-U.S. Bank accounts, you'll need to complete a simple account ownership verification process.

To determine if your brokerage account is available for external account transfers, select Brokerage from the Account Type menu. You can review available financial institutions in the Brokerage Account drop down. Some of the available brokerage accounts for external transfers are:
  • Ameriprise Financial Brokerage
  • Charles Schwab Brokerage
  • E*Trade Brokerage
  • Fidelity Brokerage
  • Merrill Lynch
  • Morgan Stanley
  • Principal Mutual Fund
  • Scottrade Brokerage
  • Smith Barney Brokerage
  • TD Ameritrade

Note: The following external accounts are not eligible for the U.S. Bank External Transfer service:
  • Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs)
  • Custodial and/or Trust Accounts
  • Certificate of Deposits (CDs) or other time-based accounts
  • Loan Accounts (including credit card and equity accounts)
Other restrictions may apply; contact your financial institution with questions.
