Students, alumni and supporters can showcase Wildcat pride while accessing financial tools and resources

U.S. Bank and Northwestern University are expanding their long-standing partnership with the launch of a new U.S. Bank Visa® Debit Card featuring Northwestern branding and a new on-campus resource to support personalized goal achievement.

The new debit card enables students, faculty, staff, alumni and supporters to showcase their Wildcat pride whenever they make purchases, while connecting them to U.S. Bank’s banking services and financial tools.

These new offerings mark the latest milestone in a partnership spanning more than 20 years between U.S. Bank and Northwestern and reflects a shared commitment to supporting the financial well-being of the university community.

The U.S. Bank Visa® Debit Card featuring a Northwestern University design is the 12th university-branded debit card since the card program launched in 2020.

“Northwestern University is proud of its strong and growing partnership with U.S. Bank,” said Corbin Smyth, executive director of the Norris University Center at Northwestern. “This new debit card offers students, alumni, faculty and staff a simple, everyday way to show their Northwestern spirit and stay connected to the university wherever they go."

The U.S. Bank Visa® Debit Card featuring a Northwestern University design is part of U.S. Bank’s broader campus banking program, which launched in 1973, and represents the 12th university-branded debit card launched since the card program began in 2020. The program is designed to combine everyday banking access with university partnerships that support students and campus communities.

“Every time a Wildcat pulls out this card, it’s a small but meaningful celebration of a community we’re proud to support,” said Abdel Daghlawi, Illinois Branch Banking Market Leader for U.S. Bank.  “It brings Northwestern pride into everyday moments while opening the door to practical banking tools, guidance and resources that can help students, alumni and the broader campus community move confidently toward their financial goals.”

In addition to the new card, a U.S. Bank Goals Coach will serve dedicated days on campus to support students, faculty and staff on progress toward their goals, financial or otherwise, through one-on-one support and educational resources. U.S. Bank will also continue to provide a range of other resources, including a U.S. Bank branch located in the Norris University Center and multiple ATMs across campus.

The new debit card also reflects U.S. Bank’s focus on reducing plastic waste through product design. Each card is made from recovered ocean-bound plastic* – material collected from areas at risk of polluting waterways – helping reduce plastic waste and support environmental protection efforts.

The Northwestern debit card will be available on August 10, 2026, and can be ordered through usbank.com, via the U.S. Bank Mobile App, or at U.S. Bank branch locations. The U.S. Bank branch on the Northwestern campus is located on the ground floor of the Norris University Center at 1999 Campus Drive in Evanston, Illinois.
