U.S. Bank received its second Gold Service Award from Sterling Lexicon for delivering an exceptional experience to companies that are relocating employees, as well as corporate clients.
The U.S. Bank Corporate Programs team partners with companies to help their employees being relocated navigate the company’s benefits, financing options and the complexities of buying a home
When a company’s employees relocate for a new role, buying a home can be one of the most complex parts of the transition. For U.S. Bank’s Corporate Programs and Corporate Relocation team, helping make that process easier is at the heart of what they do every day.
That commitment to service recently earned national recognition. U.S. Bank received the Gold Service Award from Sterling Lexicon, a relocation management company that partners with organizations across the country to support their employee relocation programs. This is the second time U.S. Bank has won the honor.
The award recognizes service excellence among Sterling Lexicon’s network of partners, which includes mortgage providers, real estate professionals and moving services companies. Winners are selected based on votes and feedback from Sterling Lexicon leadership and team members who work directly with relocation partners and clients.
“For us, this recognition is really about the customer experience we’re delivering,” said Chris Douglas, regional sales manager at U.S. Bank and manager of the Sterling Lexicon relationship. “It’s a reflection of the relationships we’ve built and the service our team provides to relocating employees and corporate clients every day.”
Sterling Lexicon works with companies of all sizes, from large national employers to smaller organizations, when they’re moving talent across the country and around the world. Through the partnership, U.S. Bank helps those companies’ employees navigate the home financing process as they relocate for work.
The Corporate Relocation team, which is part of U.S. Bank’s home lending organization, serves as a bridge between relocating employees, corporate sponsors and internal mortgage operations teams, helping address questions, provide education and guide people through what can often be a complicated transition.
“It’s truly a partnership,” Douglas said. “From leadership discussions to day-to-day transactions, we’re working together to make sure the employees have a positive experience throughout their relocation journey.”
The relationship also extends beyond mortgage lending. The team collaborates with partners across the bank to connect relocating employees with broader banking solutions and benefits that support their move.
Loans for purchasing homes as part of relocations are not a traditional mortgage business. Each move comes with unique employer benefits, program structures and financial considerations.
Employers may provide assistance ranging from closing-cost support and down payment assistance to temporary mortgage subsidies and other relocation benefits. The U.S. Bank Corporate Relocation team is designed specifically to manage those complexities.
“We’ve seen just about every scenario,” Douglas said. “Our team understands the nuances of relocation programs and has built processes to support them from start to finish.”
That expertise is especially valuable in today’s housing market, where affordability remains a concern for many homebuyers, he said. The team helps customers understand available financing options and works closely with employers and relocation partners to identify solutions that can make homeownership more accessible.
The program also includes specialized capabilities for employees relocating to the United States from other countries who may not yet have established U.S. credit histories, helping expand homeownership opportunities for international talent.
Many companies served through relocation programs are also commercial and treasury clients of the bank, creating opportunities to strengthen relationships across business lines.
“A great customer experience is incredibly important because these relationships are interconnected,” said Melissa Willette, national sales manager, corporate programs business development at U.S Bank. “We work closely with our internal partners to keep them informed and make sure we’re delivering the service our clients and their employees expect.”
