John Hummel joined U.S. Bank in 2017 and today serves as head of Home Lending Production, which includes Retail Home Lending, Correspondent/HFA and Warehouse Lending.
Before assuming this role, John led Retail Lending and previously served as head of Correspondent/Housing Finance Agency (HFA) Lending.
John is an accomplished executive experienced in strategic marketing, sales management, communications, brand management, P&L management and strategic business planning with a proven track record of increasing market share while driving profitable returns for organizations.
A mortgage industry veteran, he began his mortgage career in marketing roles that led to his becoming chief marketing officer of Citigroup’s mortgage business in 2000 before transitioning into production leadership in 2004 where he led national sales for the Wholesale and Correspondent channels, moving into Retail Lending in 2012 as a division sales executive.
Following his tenure at Citigroup, John held executive production roles leading Retail Lending for CMG Financial and later for Pacific Union Financial.
A leader in the mortgage field, John has had a strong presence at industry conferences and events as well as serving on the Residential/Single Family Board of Governors (RESBOG) for the Mortgage Bankers Association from 2017 to 2023.
John holds a bachelor of science degree in marketing from Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina, and two master of arts degrees: one in marketing and another in media communications – both from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri.
