Frequently Asked Questions Campus Banking Program

1. How does the Campus Banking program work?

The Campus Banking program adds banking functionality to the ID cards you are issuing directly from your card office. You can choose to implement the standard ATM/debit card program or you can upgrade to the Maxx Card program. Both programs allow students to link their ID card to a U.S. Bank Checking account.

No matter which option you choose, U.S. Bank will install ATMs in high-traffic locations, complete a project plan, and guarantee all necessary steps are taken to promote a successful program.

Our bankers will assist with the re-carding of your campus and will be involved with orientation and back-to-school events. We will provide monetary support for your re-carding and will offer financial wellness seminars to your students, faculty and staff. Finally, based on the level of participation at your school, U.S. Bank may pay you a royalty payment on an annual basis for the privilege of being your partner.

2. What is the Maxx Card and how is it different from your standard ATM/Debit card program?

The Maxx Card program gives students an all-in-one campus ID and Visa® Check card that can be used at ATMs and for purchases anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted1. The Maxx Card is instantly issued right from your card office with a direct link to U.S. Bank or from your on-campus U.S. Bank branch.

The standard ATM/debit program adds ATM and PIN-based point-of-sale debit functionality to the ID cards you are issuing directly from your card office with no direct link to the bank.
