The Campus Banking program adds banking functionality to the ID cards you are issuing directly from your card office. You can choose to implement the standard ATM/debit card program or you can upgrade to the Maxx Card program. Both programs allow students to link their ID card to a U.S. Bank Checking account.
No matter which option you choose, U.S. Bank will install ATMs in high-traffic locations, complete a project plan, and guarantee all necessary steps are taken to promote a successful program.
Our bankers will assist with the re-carding of your campus and will be involved with orientation and back-to-school events. We will provide monetary support for your re-carding and will offer financial wellness seminars to your students, faculty and staff. Finally, based on the level of participation at your school, U.S. Bank may pay you a royalty payment on an annual basis for the privilege of being your partner.
The Maxx Card program gives students an all-in-one campus ID and Visa® Check card that can be used at ATMs and for purchases anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted1. The Maxx Card is instantly issued right from your card office with a direct link to U.S. Bank or from your on-campus U.S. Bank branch.
The standard ATM/debit program adds ATM and PIN-based point-of-sale debit functionality to the ID cards you are issuing directly from your card office with no direct link to the bank.
U.S. Bank can customize a program for almost any 2-year or 4-year college or university that has an existing card program in place using a magnetic stripe card through any card system vendor. Specific size requirements may apply to implement the Maxx Card program.
Your school will benefit from the marketing support U.S. Bank provides for your entire card program, which builds awareness for all features of the card. Additionally, the school may receive an annual royalty payment based on the level of participation at your campus. Your students also benefit through convenient access to best in class banking products and services and all-in-one card functionality.
U.S. Bank does not ask the school to supply any student, faculty or staff information for either program.
Yes. ATMs are an integral component of our campus banking solution. As a result, at least one U.S. Bank ATM on your campus is vital to the program's success.
When linked to a U.S. Bank Checking account, the Maxx Card can be used anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted, including ATMs and merchant locations worldwide, as well as online. An ATM/debit card that has been linked to a U.S. Bank Checking account can be used to transact business at PLUS® ATMs globally and to make PIN based point-of-sale purchases at Interlink® merchants nationwide.
The U.S. Bank Campus Banking partnership is an optional program for students, faculty and staff.
U.S. Bank will customize numerous marketing materials, such as brochures, flyers, advertisements, a website and more, to promote the availability of the U.S. Bank option on your campus card.
U.S. Bank will work with your school to identify ideal opportunities to hold on-campus tabling events and take applications at campus locations. Tabling sessions are held around major events such as re-carding, orientations and during back to school periods.
U.S. Bank has implemented new campus banking partnerships during both spring and fall semesters with great success. You may want to consider adding a bank partner if you are upgrading to a new card system, removing social security numbers, or looking for more revenue to support your card program.
All cardholders must report a lost or stolen card to the campus card office to deactivate the campus functions and to be issued a new card. If the cardholder is a U.S. Bank customer, they must also report a lost or stolen campus card to U.S. Bank. The school will have no liability for fraudulent use or overdrafts arising from campus card transactions.
Additionally, Maxx Cards are protected by the U.S. Bank Zero Liability Policy2, which means that cardholders will not be held responsible for any unauthorized non-PIN purchases as long as the card is reported missing right away.
We are currently operating full-service branches with many campus partners. Please contact a partnership manager to find out more about placing a branch on your campus.
We have created a Financial Wellness Seminar that can be presented by bankers or campus organization leaders, and is available to help start students off on the right track.
