U.S. Bank has joined Ascend Foundation (#AscendTogether) and their partners, on their 5-Point Action Agenda to:

  • Promote inclusion
  • Raise awareness
  • Denounce bias
  • Support communities
  • Give donations

In 2021, we committed a five year donation to the Ascend Impact Fund to promote greater racial equity and harmony in the workforce. In addition to spreading awareness and encouraging action, the Fund will support the Ascend Foundation’s data-driven research to assess the progress of Pan-Asians and other underrepresented groups in leadership roles and identify the factors that contribute to leadership, workforce and population gaps.

U.S. Bank Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer Greg Cunningham is a member of the Ascend Asian-Black Allyship Advisory Council for the Impact Fund work and has been acknowledged along with other leaders in Elevating Asian-Black Allyship in Corporate America, a paper released by Ascend Foundation in 2022 to spark thought-provoking discussions around Asian-Black allyship.

Terasaki Budokan Community Center

At U.S. Bank, we believe in partnering with communities to invest in projects that support cultural identity, multi-generational programs and wellness. After 30 years of planning, the Terasaki Budokan Community Center held its grand opening celebration in March 2022. The recreation center in Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo neighborhood offers activities ranging from sports programs, martial arts, and dance to tai chi classes. We were proud to partner and invest more than $10 million in NMTC equity to make this community dream a reality.

New flagship branches celebrate Chinese culture.

U.S. Bank is proud to launch flagship branches for the Chinese community that include employees who speak both English and Chinese and feature refreshed interior and exterior designs that pay tribute to Chinese culture.

Employees connect to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month.

This AAPI Heritage Month, the U.S. Bank Asian Business Resource Group will be hosting a virtual event with senior leaders including Andy Cecere, chairman, president and CEO to hear from Colonel Danielle Ngo, executive officer to the U.S. Army inspector general, Pentagon, Washington D.C. Danielle will share the amazing story of her rise as an Asian American woman in the U.S. Army.
