It’s the act of conducting a wide range of financial transactions through a mobile app. Mobile apps are software that is built by financial institutions and offered to their customers. They are accessed through internet-enabled mobile devices (smart phones and tablets).
Both online and mobile banking allow bank customers to conduct a wide range of financial transactions without having to go to their bank or ATM. The major difference between the two is how the customer uses them.
Online banking: A user can conduct transactions via a desktop, tablet or smart phone as long as they have an internet connection.
Mobile banking: A user must download an app, which is software created by their financial institution. The app can only be accessed through a smart phone or tablet that is internet enabled. The U.S. Bank Mobile App offers all the features of online banking, plus additional ones.
You’ll need to complete a short one-time enrollment process.
For personal accounts: Gather your U.S. Bank card or account number and PIN along with your Social Security number. If you don’t have a PIN or need a new one, please contact 24-Hour Banking at 800-USBANKS (872-2657).
For business accounts: You’ll need an ATM or debit card. You can apply for these at a branch. Use your PIN to log in to mobile or online banking. Next, create a unique username and password to log in securely in the future. Then, just follow the instructions on the enrollment page.

Via the mobile app: Tap Login help on the login screen.
Via online banking: Select My Profile under Customer Service in the main menu at usbank.com, then look for Password in the Login Preferences section.
Via the mobile app: Open the main menu and tap your name at the top of the list. This will bring you to the My profile screen, where you can change your username, password or security questions.
Via online banking: Log in to usbank.com and select My Alerts under Customer Service in the main menu. Open the Account Alerts tab and choose Add alerts at the right side of the page. Then select the account alerts that will best help you manage your accounts.
Via the mobile app: Log in to the app and open the main menu. Tap Notifications and then select Accounts to begin choosing the alerts you want.
