Mortgage Change Management Portfolio Senior Analyst

The Mortgage Project Portfolio Management Senior Analyst is a key member of the Project Portfolio Management Team within U.S. Bank’s Mortgage Change Management Organization (CMO). The CMO Mortgage Project Portfolio Management team:
1. Tracks and reports on CMO’s master portfolio of change initiatives
2. Analyzes CMO’s resource capacity (team level, staff level) to execute current / new change initiatives
3. Facilitates the prioritization of new, sponsored initiatives – from ideation, to scoping and business case development, to proposal development and facilitation of executive decision making
4. Conducts Monthly Portfolio Reviews and reporting with key Line of Business (LOB) stakeholders

The Mortgage Project Portfolio Management Senior Analyst partners with the CMO and TOS Channel Delivery Teams to:
1. Define and manage CMO’s initiative intake process, ensuring that all proposed initiatives and opportunities are captured and assessed through the Intake Process’ standard ideation, scoping, cost benefit analysis, and resource allocation phases
2. Train and support CMO and TOS planning and delivery teams to consistently manage proposed new initiatives through CMO’s initiative intake process
3. Coordinate the preparation of proposed new initiatives for consideration during Home Mortgage’s ongoing prioritization forums, ensuring that executives make informed prioritization decisions based on likely benefits and required resources
4. Participate in prioritization meetings, and document and disseminate executive prioritization decisions to Home Mortgage stakeholders
5. Lead ongoing process improvement initiatives, to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of CMO’s intake and prioritization processes
6. Prepare executive level status reporting (recurring and ad-hoc) to effectively brief executive sponsors and stakeholders regarding Portfolio status and areas of required focus
7. Lead special projects and analyses, as assigned



Role is based in St. Louis, MO or Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN.    Exceptions may be made for exceptional candidates with an ability to travel up to 20%.




Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Five to eight years of experience in project management and leadership activities
- Four or more years of managerial experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
- 5-6+ years’ experience planning, estimating, and developing business cases for complex change initiatives in the financial services industry, including project scheduling and resource planning
- 3-4 years’ experience managing and improving project planning and project management processes for a large delivery team, including the coordinating the actions of multiple teams and stakeholders
- 3-4+ years’ experience managing and reporting on project portfolios to executive audiences, in close collaboration with delivery leads
- 2-3+ years’ experience developing, managing, and forecasting complex, enterprise-level project staffing capacity models, using Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools such as Changepoint’s Daptiv, Planview’s Innotas, CA PPM, and/or other market leading PPM tools
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to present to executive audiences
- Track record of strong internal or external consulting, including the ability to effectively influence decisions and outcomes through data and issue framing
- Outstanding analytical abilities; ability to both scrutinize details for accuracy and consistency, and also understand the big picture of project portfolio health and future impacts to current decisions
- Outstanding collaboration and partnership skills, including the ability to coordinate the timely inputs of myriad stakeholders to secure alignment on project portfolio health and capacity gaps
- Proficiency in MS SharePoint and MS Office tools; including MS Project, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Visio, and
- Working knowledge of Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK)
