Omnichannel Delivery Project Manager

U.S. Bank is seeking an accomplished Project Manager with strong strategic and enterprise project management experience to contribute toward the success of a multi-year program.   We are looking for an energetic, experienced project manager with experience in the financial services industry.

As part of our Omnichannel organization, the Delivery Project Manager will be responsible for managing a cross-functional project team consisting of business partners, technology partners and project team members.  Omnichannel brings all of U.S. Bank to our customers by creating solutions that empower people to achieve their financial dreams.  We create simple, seamless experiences for our customers - no matter how they choose to bank with us.  The successful candidate is expected to have the skills and experience necessary to deliver best in class projects.   
Responsibilities:  The Delivery Project Manager will be a key member of a large program.   You will be part of a team of project managers with each having an area of focus.  You will work closely with our technology project managers to stay in sync with key deliverables, status and budget.  The PM is responsible for ensuring that business-line tasks and deliverables are completed on schedule, issues are resolved, risks are mitigated, and status is communicated.   
This individual will; provide oversight to meet established function, quality, cost, and schedule goals and objectives for large sized projects with extensive complexity for multi-year initiatives. Manage projects from initial concept through post implementation, including multiple implementation cycles.  Plans and controls multiple related projects with complex dependencies and shared resources and trains others in the use of planning tools. Build relationships with sponsoring executives and different groups inside and outside of the department. Addresses issues via direct one-on-one dialog with resources. Clarifies boundaries of acceptable risk and removes obstacles. Authors project management artifacts including developing and maintaining project plans. Works with resource managers ensure the project is properly staffed.  Ensures project governance is established and observed. Recognizes, clarifies, and prioritizes project plan activities. Writes effective, clear, concise, and relevant communication for project stakeholders. Communicates difficult and/or complex ideas and presents the appropriate message to audiences up to and including Senior Vice Chair. Determines knowledge and skills required for successful project outcomes. Promotes collaborative relationships across project team members. Inspires commitment, high energy, and positive attitudes. Influences multiple constituencies. Manages project team size of more than 15 team members.
Tasks:  In collaboration with their technology team counterpart, the Delivery PM will:
  1. Work with our business and technology partners to document scope and success criteria for the project.
  2. Ensure proper staff is in place to support the project.
  3. Work with project stakeholders and team members to identify objectives and goals.
  4. Define overall schedule and milestones.
  5. Develop and maintain detailed project work plans (work breakdown structures) for business-team activities.
  6. Coordinate business-side activities including requirements, prioritization, backlog grooming, business line acceptance testing (BLAT), business readiness, and deployment.
  7. Help manage release scope and backlog.
  8. Maintain insight into the project Financials.
  9. Conduct weekly business-line project team meetings.
  10. Report project status through multiple means/forums.
  11. Manage issues.
  12. Manage risk.


Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Eight to ten years of experience in project management and leadership activities
- Five or more years of managerial experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Five or more years of experience in traditional methods of project management, with two or more years in an Agile or Continuous Improvement delivery model preferred
- Excellent project management, organization and planning
- Clear and accurate verbal and written communication – ability to develop and deliver oral and written presentations to all levels of the project team, including executive management
- Ability to lead, guide and motivate a cross-function project team
- Considerable knowledge of assigned business line or functional area
- Demonstrated management and leadership skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to analyze data
- Experience in Financial Services (Teller and/or Document Imaging) a plus.
