U.S. Bank is seeking a Software Tester with IT quality assurance and project experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives. Writes and executes tests on newly developed or acquired software to evaluate its capabilities versus system requirements and documented specifications.  Writes test plans, test cases/scripts, test reports and evaluations.  May assist with technical support, software installation, problem solving and troubleshooting. Provides input to development group on findings.  Designs and develops testing scenarios and support tools, and administers portions of the testing and support process.  Writes and performs regression test plans on new software releases and reports discrepancies.  Conceives and implements changes to the test plans to ensure that all software functions are thoroughly tested.

 

Essential Functions:
  • Create, modify and execute manual functional test cases for applications with high quality as per requirement s document.
  • Seek requirement clarifications to adequately cover test scenarios.
  • Clearly document defects with relevant information. Collaborate with the development team and other team members in re-testing and defect closure.
  • Provide clear and concise status of test cases with proof of testing.
  • Assist in creating/maintaining test data in test environments to satisfy the test scenarios

Qualifications

 

 

Basic Qualifications

 

-Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
-At least 2 years experience with designing, planning and execution of system testing strategies and tactics to ensure software quality at all stages of the system life cycle.

 

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • 6 or more years of experience in enterprise-level software testing with exposure to front end and back end testing highly preferred
  • SQL skills, and prior experience with database and data analysis, highly preferred
  • Test automation (Java, VB script) and programming experience highly preferred
  • Knowledge of waterfall software delivery framework
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and set priorities
