The Portfolio Analyst role is within the Portfolio Analytics Group supporting Corporate & Commercial Banking (large corporate finance). The Portfolio Analytics Group is dedicated to the creation, maintenance, expansion and use of a proprietary centralized strategic database application system designed to more effectively monitor and analyze the Corporate & Commercial Banking commercial loan portfolio by providing in-depth, high-quality research, data management, trend analysis, and reporting functions using available internal and external sources.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting in the maintenance and application of the data warehouse system (performing monthly updates, data queries, etc.)
- Developing reports, executive summaries and queries for distribution to management and to assist in decision making
- Applying selection criteria to create reports, customer lists, and trends utilizing systems that house proprietary data
- Working on ad hoc projects as they arise
- Generating management reports that are complete, accurate and timely
- Workflow diagramming and process documentation
- Willingness to learn new technologies and operate under occasional ambiguities
- Management of multiple concurrent data requests to meet deadlines
- Ability to identify issues and interpret data
- Operating in a team environment with the other members of the Portfolio Analytics Group who are located locally and across the country using varied means of telecommunication
- Frequent interaction with Corporate & Commercial Banking employees at various levels of seniority as well as cross-functional teams for select projects
 

Qualifications

 
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience 
- Five or more years of experience in data management, business intelligence, or related field
- Experience working with relational databases – SQL Server or MS Access preferred
- Attention to detail combined with strong organizational and analytical skills
 
Preferred Skills/Experience
- SQL query programming and structuring
- BI reporting tools
- Dashboarding for custom interactive reporting and data visualizations (Tableau or SSRS)
- Corporate banking experience with exposure to corporate banking credits
- Knowledge of financial analysis concepts and methodologies
- Advanced Microsoft Office (VBA Scripting) and SQL Server Management Studio stored procedures
- Familiarity with financial reporting and ad hoc reporting creation
- Ability to work under general supervision with the capability to work collaboratively within the team as well as independently
