USBAM Money Market Product Manager

The Money Market Product Manager provides frontline leadership and direction for the product management of all of USBAM’s money market mutual fund solutions; identifies key business opportunities and issues, develops relevant marketing concepts to pass to the marketing team for development. The successful candidate will – through independent analysis of key trends, investor data and the competitive landscape – develop strategies, recommendations and implementation plans based on these opportunities. The product manager will also have product implementation responsibilities, which include sponsoring the product implementations across all facets of the business.


Major Responsibilities:

• Responsible for a segment of the overall money market product line including identifying target customer base, product positioning, product line management and competitive analysis

• Assist Managing Director of Product, Marketing & Communications in developing, marketing, positioning and promoting the money market product line across both retail and institutional distribution channels

• Develop and maintain periodic portfolio and market updates

• Sponsor and manage product launch initiatives across the enterprise


Additional Responsibilities:

• Help develop product strategy and financial business plan, working with investment management and USBAM’s distribution partners

• Responsible for having a strong understanding of the product line by effectively communicating the product message through verbal and print media to USBAM’s distribution partners

• May occasionally represent the company and products through active participation in industry conferences

• Report on USBAM’s and competitors' product performance, portfolio composition, pricing and service

• Develop and maintain periodic portfolio and market updates, including investment issues, marketing ideas and attribution analysis

• Responsible for overall competitive analysis within the segment of the fixed income product line

• Assist in developing marketing campaigns for major product focuses (message, strategy, implementation)

• Help identify and research trends in the asset management industry and determine how or if USBAM should participate

• Work with portfolio managers on presentations for use with financial intermediaries, consultants and clients

• Develop, maintain and edit marketing literature/sales ideas, product profiles, RFPs, questionnaires, and market commentaries





Basic Qualifications

BA/BS Degree required; advanced certifications a plus

• 2-5 years of experience in financial services industry - preferably in product management or marketing. Experience with securities lending, private funds and money markets strongly preferred.

• FINRA Series 7 licensed or pass test   within 6 months of hire date


Preferred Skills/Experience

Strong analytical and quantitative aptitude and familiarity with Excel and analytical software and reporting, including eVestment, ClearWater and FactSet

• Demonstrated outstanding flexibility, teamwork and leadership

• Strong investment knowledge and demonstrated sound decision making and strategic thinking under pressure, reflecting an understanding of our industry, business and priorities

• Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills

• Drive for results, conveying a sense of urgency and bringing issues to closure despite obstacles and opposition

• Ability to work independently
