Senior Product Manager - Alternative Investments

Directly and/or through subordinates, oversees the strategic product management responsibilities for the bank’s alternative and derivative investment product platform in support of Wealth Management’s goals and market needs.  The position is responsible for onboarding and institutionalizing products, including new product development and maintaining fund manager relationships, with the end goal of ensuring the bank has the appropriate framework for selecting and recommending these products to its fiduciary clients across all Wealth Management distribution channels.  Products may include hedge funds, private equity funds, RICs, alternative mutual funds, structured notes and derivative strategies.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 
  1. Manage implementation and enhancement of new or existing products that support Wealth Management’s objectives and which meet product profit and growth goals
  2. Collaborate with the business lines and internal partners, including Legal, Compliance, Fiduciary Services, Risk, and Operations to understand key opportunities/challenges and mitigate risk related to  new and existing products, particularly in the onboarding process
  3. Identify appropriate solutions to regulatory requirements and product challenges, including recommending institutionalized processes for new and existing products to ensure efficient and accurate end-to-end processing and developing policy and procedure
  4. Design and develop value-add tools and resources for the bank’s field facing personnel (PMs and RMs) in order to grow adoption and usage of the investment platform, promote alternative and derivative investments,
  5. Generate and monitor management reports regarding utilization
  6. Manage partner and vendor relationships, leveraging  those relationship to enhance the bank’s investment platform and promote the use of alternative and derivative investments
  7. Ensure proper fulfillment of offering document and other related requests including facilitating certain communications between fund managers and client-facing personnel within the various distribution channels
  8. Maintain an in-depth understanding of industry trends and competitive landscape to ensure the bank’s investment platform meets client needs and is competitive in the marketplace.
 

Qualifications

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 10 or more years of experience as a Product Manager
  • Five or more years of management experience

  • Strong project management skills
  • High degree of energy and ability to drive change
  • Knowledge of complex financial products
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough knowledge of competitive market and operations regarding alternative investments and/or derivatives
  • Vendor management experience related to contract/agreement negotiations
  • Good understanding of private placement regulatory requirements and knowledge of alternative product structures
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Strong financial and competitive analysis skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Ten years of product management or financial services experience
  • Exceptional Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Hedge fund or private capital fund experience preferred
