Elavon is currently seeking a Security Product Marketing Manager for the North America division. The ideal candidate will have exceptional product marketing skills and a solid track record of launching solutions internally and externally in partnership with Product and Innovation, Channel Marketing, Service Delivery, Operations, Business Development, and Training teams. The Security Product Marketing Manager must have a strong understanding of the payments marketplace, how the market space is evolving, what customers are looking for, and how we can best deliver these solutions to market. He/she will focus a majority of time on go-to-market strategy, activities, messaging and positioning, sales enablement, and customer experience. Top candidates will be well-versed and experienced in marketing customer-centric solutions, not just products. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to define, prioritize, and execute product marketing initiatives to help grow demand for our security solutions. Excellent writing, communication, and persuasion skills are mandatory, with the ability to convincingly sell ideas and plans to internal constituencies, executives, prospects, and sales channels. He/she must be able to identify solutions and strategic direction, in spite of high degrees of ambiguity and uncertainty, as well as be able to multi-task and successfully execute multiple projects simultaneously.
The Security Product Marketing Manager is expected to be a team player, who drives marketing projects and tactics that contribute to Elavon’s revenue goals for security solutions and PCI DSS compliance programs, including:
  • Strategy:
    • Develops marketing strategy documentation to direct new and ongoing activities across multiple priority industries throughout the life cycle of our solutions;
    • Conceives and supports new and innovative marketing programs;
    • Creates, executes, and continually refines product marketing strategies that integrate market and customer intelligence, lead generation, and nurturing programs to increase security product awareness and revenue;
    • Conducts primary market research, directly communicating with customers to understand their pain points and needs so as to directly inform messaging and confirm product direction; and
    • Conducts secondary market research and competitive analysis to better understand market position, buyer behavior, and critical pain points.
  • Marketing Planning:
    • Creates go-to-market plans for our security solutions in North America;
    • Develops evolutionary plans to expand, cross-sell, and/or adapt existing products for new partner relationships;
    • Develops creative briefs, clearly communicating objectives to internal marketing teams and external agencies; and
    • Proactively socializes and communicates upcoming offerings to multiple groups with varying levels of technical knowledge, including PR, Channel Marketing, Sales, and the Product and Innovation organization.
  • Marketing Execution:
    • Develops value propositions, product positioning, and key messaging for a holistic security offering — including encryption, tokenization, EMV, PCI, and others — that resonate and differentiate our products across priority industries;
    • Continually tests and refines messaging to help drive sales and revenue commitments;
    • Manages planning and execution of security marketing programs, including determination of program results and improvement opportunities and adjusts marketing plans based on results;
    • Develops product website messaging and content and works closely with the Digital Marketing team for site analysis and improvement plans; and
    • Communicates value propositions, product positioning, and key messaging to sales and customer care teams and develops necessary sales collateral and tools to support the selling process.
  • Teamwork and Business Partnerships
    • Works with senior leaders and sales staff to understand their goals and align marketing efforts to help Elavon meet security revenue and customer satisfaction objectives;
    • Partners with cross-functional teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies based on VoC, market(s) served, and business goals;
    • Works closely with the North America business and channels, product management, strategy, and IT teams to understand current challenges and innovates, improves, and incorporates insights into product roadmaps;
    • Supports vertical marketing and channel marketing with respect to security initiatives;
    • Serves as central point of contact with marketing counterparts at partner organizations, ensuring that joint marketing opportunities and funding are understood and leveraged where applicable;
    • Works with internal teams and external agencies to identify marketing asset needs and create content;
    • Performs additional team assignments as needed; and
    • Fields and prioritizes requests from multiple internal groups. 


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant experience
  • Four to six years of experience in B2B payment security product marketing, including product/program development, implementation, and strategic analysis
  • Familiarity with P2PE encryption, tokenization, and EMV
  • Knowledge of cutting-edge and traditional payment security solutions, as well as progressive marketing techniques
  • Ability to simply convey highly-technical concepts to small and medium business owners
  • Inherent desire to be “go to” subject matter expert
  • Excellent writing, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong financial, competitive analysis, and technical skills
