U.S. Bank Consumer Dealer Services is a national financial services division with $30 billion in assets that provides consumers a diversified line of products including Auto Loans, Recreation Finance Loans, and Auto Leases through indirect dealer relationships.
 
DEPARTMENT PURPOSE
 
The Financial Developer/Programmer Analyst position is with Consumer Dealer Services’ Product Pricing, Risk, & Profitability department. Members of the department develop strategies to manage product profitability and risk. The group provides analytical tools and works on successful execution of pricing and risk management tactics. The department also develops, applies, and back tests quantitative financial models to verify products are profitably priced for various risk exposures as well as evaluates instruments that transfer exposures. The Financial Developer/Programmer Analyst will maintain, improve and report static pool/vintage data for analyzing historical credit losses, residual losses, and prepayments; for developing forecasts; and for evaluating overall product profitability.
 
MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS
 
The main job functions will be assisting in the management and development of the Consumer Lending static pool of over 200 million records in an MS SQL Server environment.  Maintain, improve and process pricing cube and income statements in MS Analysis Services.  Transition legacy MS Access reports to the new reporting tool in C# with further development and improvement of the tool.  Other development work as needed.  
 
The Financial Developer must be able to process large amounts of data, balance to official reports, and be proficient in programming for reporting based activities.  The position is heavy in data mining requiring strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to analyze and report on findings.  The candidate should have e xcellent database, spreadsheet and programming skills (SQL, VB,C, C#, or C++) and demonstrate knowledge in database reporting using SRRS, MS Analysis Services, MS Access reports, Tableau, or other reporting software.  Experience should show strong problem solving and analytical skills. 

 

 

Qualifications

 
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- 10 or more years of experience in financial systems technology and analysis
- Advanced certifications
 
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Skills in financial system development, financial analysis and reporting.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (Master degree preferred) in computer science or related field -- experience in financial industry is a plus.
- At least 1 year working experience in writing programming code in any language (C, C++, Java, C#, VBA, SQL, etc).  Graduate level research in writing code counts as experience.
- Knowledge of MS SQL Server, MS Access, VB, and Excel, experience in writing VBA is a plus.
