Sr. Production Support Developer

U.S. Bank is seeking a Sr. Production Support Developer with design and development experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives. 


The individual will be part of the Branch Delivery team located in Cincinnati, Ohio, Richfield, Minnesota and Portland, Oregon. The candidate will receive training on the applications, in use in our branches and other delivery channels, to provide production support for systems/environments. Candidate will learn each application’s end-to-end infrastructure and be responsible for resolving incidents/problems and monitoring/availability.

--Candidate is responsible for the recovery of applications from production outages, which includes determining infrastructure components that are failing/impacted, engaging and leading resources from various support organizations, escalating as needed, and communicating status with management and Business Line. 

--Contributes and at times, leads clients and technical staff to investigate, analyze, and resolve technical problems related to system functions, programming, and procedures. 

--Perform root cause analysis and identify long-term resolution to prevent reoccurrence. --Identify improvements in logging, monitoring, and support documentation and tools to improve the team’s capability to identify cause and expedite recovery. 

--Position requires frequent participation in an on-call rotation with 24/7 support responsibilities.

--May participate in design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of solutions.

--Tests, debugs, documents, maintains, and modifies computer programs of moderate complexity, significance, and risk. 

--Joins in post-implementation reviews of both application development content and process to maximize and share learning. 

--Shares in monitoring operating efficiency of existing systems.

--Writes documentation that describes installation and operating procedures.

Basic Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
-At least 7 years experience with developing and implementing applications.


Preferred Skills/Experience

Basic understanding in:

-Basic knowledge of various communication protocols like SOAP, JMS, JDBC and MQ

-Basic knowledge of authentication, authorization, digital certificates, SSL and SSO

-Modeling: data, process, events, objects

-Application design, architecture


Working experience in:

-Experience with Argo Data Systems (Fusion / Wizard), Microsoft Dynamic and Unified Service Desk

-Experience with web solutions that utilize IIS, Websphere, Oracle Access Manager, LDAP, eDirectory, TIBCO, MQ, SQL, DB2/UDB, and Mainframe interfaces

-Experience reading/analyzing application log files

-Experience with ITSM, Service Manager

- Experience with Sitescope monitoring tools

- Experience with AppDynamics and HP Openview or other performance monitoring tools

-  Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Visio

 Extensive experience in:

-Application development tools


-IT standards, procedures, policy

-System development life cycle

-Change control
