U.S. Bank is seeking an effective Systems Administrator with Network Operations Center experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives.  Candidate must have a deep understanding of Windows Server Operating Systems (Windows 2008, 2012, 2016) and 3+ years of experience troubleshooting server operating systems.  This position supports server change activity, incident management and problem management across servers (Microsoft and Linux), mid-tier and critical applications including critical security vulnerability patching.  Must be able to analyze, diagnose, and resolve server hardware and software incidents.  Identify & correct server security vulnerabilities and implement security related software.  Investigates application and system events and solutions for the purposes of maintaining or improving the delivery of services.  Creates and follows detailed Change Management documentation and implements approved changes to production systems.  Must have sense of urgency and the commitment required for working in a 24/7 operation.  The ideal candidate will not only have experience maintaining server operating systems but in addition be well versed in virtualization technologies such as VMWare.  Experienced candidates with a combination of in-depth server experience and excellent communication/customer service skills should excel in this environment.

Qualifications

 

 

Basic Qualifications

 

-Associate's degree or equivalent work experience
-MS Certified Systems Administrator
-MS Certified Systems Engineer
-At least 3 years experience with a data center operating environment, day-to-day operational requirements, and the operation of production systems and equipment.

 

Preferred Skills/Experience

 

-Bachelor's Degree OR High School Diploma/GED + 2 years of technical experience

-3+ years of in-depth knowledge and working experience with Microsoft Server --Operating Systems (Windows 2008, 2012, 2016)

-2+ years of in-depth knowledge and working experience with VMware

-2+ years of experience with a combination of the following: installation, support, maintenance, patching, upgrades, configuration, archiving, and backup of server hardware, operating system, software and utilities

-Working experience/understanding with at least one of the following storage technologies including SAN, NAS, iSCSI, Fiber

- Working experience with both LAN and WAN technologies

-Working experience with enterprise backup and restore technologies 

-Experience with OS upgrades, patches, firmware and new applications and equipment

-Current Microsoft certification (MSCE, MCSA, etc.) a plus

-1+ years of experience with Linux

-Experience with computing environments connected to the Internet and understand the associated security implications
