Financial Systems Analyst

The Data Analyst position is primarily responsible for the development, construction and automation of new interfaces (data feeds) into the Oracle Management Reporting system.  These data feeds provide the information needed to support bank-wide Basel initiatives including information needed for the banks new reporting application software. 
The Analyst will own the interface from development through testing and into Production, including ongoing support – some of which may occur off-hours (On-call support).  Furthermore, the position requires strong technical skills using MS Access, MS Excel and SQL.  It will involve querying information from a data warehouse, and performing other ad-hoc data mining and financial analysis.  Specific duties could include some of the following:
  • Gaining a working knowledge of business needs in order to write business requirements for new interfaces.
  • Working with other programmers and reviewing their technical design document.
  • Creating Oracle tables and loading test files using Oracle SQL Loader.
  • Testing the data.  A critical component of which includes reconciling data to General Ledger information.  Proficiency in Microsoft desk tools such as Excel and Access are required.
  • Documenting test issues and re-testing until bugs are worked out and data reconciles.
  • Writing Oracle procedures (PL/SQL) to refine the data and add other Managerial Reporting data including Transfer Pricing and Basel/Economic Equity calculations.

Sharing in monitoring month-end close activities, including those months when month-end occurs on weekends. Participates in on-call rotation, providing support as-needed 24/7.



Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience (MIS, CIS, CS)
- Three to five years of experience in financial systems technology and analysis
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Experience in Accounting, Finance or Math
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Desire to produce accurate, high-quality work
- Proficiency in Microsoft desk tools such as Excel and Access
- Preferred knowledge or skill in SQL, PL/SQL, and TOAD for Oracle
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deliver results on aggressive deadlines
- Requires excellent communication skills – written and verbal
- Experience with Essbase a plus
