Acting as an internal evangelist at the Enterprise level, you will lead the research, design, development, and integration of standards for API architecture and execution for teams across the organization. We are seeking a leader who has a solid understanding of technology and a deep background in software engineering, with the proven ability to move business solutions forward by creating premier customer experiences. About the Team
The U.S. Bank Enterprise API team contributes significantly to enabling our customer-focused experience. We are the first bank to use mobile to open accounts and we are using our data intelligence to bring a next-generation, holistic experience to customers across U.S. Bank.
 
The top challenges for the team are delivering APIs for our rapidly evolving product, balancing development velocity with API consistency, and improving the architecture to handle the scale of 2.5+ million daily customers conducting transactions through mobile, online and other digital channels. Responsibilities:
  • Develop standards for product development teams across the company by collaborating with cross-functional line of business leaders
  • Develop scalable API design reviews to ensure interface alignment with business intent and usability standards
  • Act as a mentor for API design to software engineers, product owners and product managers across the company
  • Inspire change through persuasive documentation
  • Discover needs, gaps and opportunities while working directly with internal and external partners and customers
  • Train business and technical leaders, developers, and product managers on event practices and opportunities
  • Identify and evangelize additional chances to build exceptional API architectures throughout the enterprise
  • Remain continuously informed of emerging software trends and engaged with the larger API architecture community
 

Qualifications

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • At least 10 years of experience with the concepts, philosophies and tools behind the design of applications, information and underlying information technologies

  • At least 10 years of experience with developing and implementing applications

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree

  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing API

  • 1+ year of Agile experience

  • Experience building, consuming, documenting and supporting events

  • Experience developing and deploying applications on Cloud and DevOps, preferably on Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Excellent presentation skills and comfort presenting complex information to senior leadership
