  • Manage a team of junior underwriting staff and report to Regional Underwriting Manager for East Coast.
  • Recruit and train regional underwriting staff on credit and underwriting concepts to provide a consistent approach on credit analysis and portfolio management.
  • Actively participates in screening new project finance and institutional CRE lending opportunities.
  • Provide effective feedback when reviewing various credit requests related to origination and portfolio management.
  • Demonstrate expertise and understanding in project specific analysis to include all CRE property and project types.
  • Able to proficiently analyze the financial condition of guarantors, borrowers and sponsors.
  • Able to analyze corporate financial statements of public and private real estate companies including extensive balance sheet, income statement and cash flow analysis.
  • Able to identify key credit risks as well as the relevant deal strengths to mitigate those risks. 
  • Able to guide or complete work on complex transactions.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills through interaction with underwriting staff, origination team, credit officers, and various senior managers. 


Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree,
5+ years in Commercial Real Estate Underwriting

 Preferred Skills/Experience
- Experience in working with national and institutional scale accounts
- Considerable credit analysis and analytical skills
- Extensive knowledge of credit administration, policy and procedures
- Thorough knowledge of economics, accounting, and finance
- In-depth knowledge of risk analysis
- Excellent technical report writing skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
