HMDA Data and Reporting Analyst

This position will support the U.S. Bancorp’s HMDA Policy and will be responsible for supporting the HMDA and HMDA+ data integrity program by providing data management and reporting across all business channels, generating testing samples, perform file maintenance, data analysis and various compliance administration duties.
This position works with the Fair and Responsible Banking analytics groups along with business line stakeholders of various levels within the organization including Corporate Compliance and Business Line personnel, to help ensure the effective performance of the Policies and related programs.


- Design, develop, test, monitor and provide complex reporting for HMDA in Excel using SAS and /or VBA programming
- Perform robust data mining and data analysis across all HMDA reportable lending products and support monthly testing and targeted reviews.
- Creates analytical reports summarizing data integrity risk and communicate results concisely to management.
- Create and maintain appropriate levels of technical writing documentation to support each analysis.
- Validate and assess front-end systems’ data logic for data collection to ensure system processes are supported by the regulatory interpretations for accurate reporting.
- Support audits, examinations and periodic reviews to assess levels of risk and regulatory compliance.



Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Five to seven years of experience in an applicable risk management environment
- Applicable professional certifications

Preferred Skills/Experience 

- Preferred candidate should have financial services industry experience and a working knowledge of related government and regulatory laws and regulations; in particular, the fair lending laws, Regulation C (Home Mortgage Disclosure Act – HMDA), Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act – ECOA), Fair Housing Act and preferably knowledge of U.S. Bancorp credit operations, policies, and procedures. 
- At least five years of related experience in data management, VBA and/or sequel database programming, loan documentation of work performed and conclusions reached, auditing or data quality controls with SAS certified or extensive data analytics experience.
- Ability and experience in analyzing, testing or auditing HMDA data quality for internal and external interpretation.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively articulate HMDA data reporting issues and trends to management through generation of effective presentations and management reporting.
- Demonstrate strong collaboration skills and a proven ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with industry software such as CRAWiz® and/or Fair Lending Wiz®
- Working knowledge and understanding of consumer and commercial loan processing, including credit underwriting and mortgage pricing a plus
- Proficient computer skills, using MS Office applications
- An understanding of business objectives and HMDA data regulatory reporting requirements.
- In addition to SAS and analytics skills, the successful candidate would be expected to communicate results concisely to a broad audience, including senior management.
