How do I change my password?

Change your password whenever you need to. Here's how:

Online banking

For the best online banking experience, we recommend logging in at usbank.com.

  1. Select Customer Service at the top of the page, then choose My Profile
  2. Select Edit Login & Security, then choose Edit to the left of "Password".
  3. Provide your current password. Then enter a new password and re-enter it once more. 
  4. When complete, select Submit

U.S. Bank Mobile App

For the best mobile banking experience, we recommend logging in or downloading the U.S. Bank Mobile App.

  1. Open the main menu, select Security center.
  2. Select Update Password, then choose Change Password.
  3. Provide your current password. Then enter a new password and re-enter it once more.
  4. When complete, select Update password.

Additional information

To ensure your information is secure, these minimum requirements need to be met:

  • Password is 8 - 24 characters long, with no spaces.
  • Include at least one number and one upper-case letter.
  • Optional special characters such as $, &, #, or +, may be included.
  • The asterisk (*) cannot be used.

You may receive an error message if one of the following occurs:

  • You're trying to re-use a password.
  • Three identical characters or numbers are listed in a row.
  • Using your username or the word "Password".
