How to apply for a checking account for someone under 18 years old?

If you're interested in opening a checking account granting a minor signing authority, we'll need you to stop by your local branch and speak with a banker. The minor must be at least 14 years of age, have a valid form of picture identification, and the account needs to have a co-signer age 18 years or older. The minor and co-signer need to be present for signing to open the account.

Feel free to schedule an appointment with one of our branch bankers if you can't drop by or need to manage your time.

  • Logged into the mobile app? Select Make an appointment on your dashboard.
  • Logged into online banking? Start by selecting Customer service at the top of your page, then choose Make an appointment.
  • Not logged in? Select Locations in the upper left corner and enter your ZIP code. Select the branch you'd like to schedule an appointment at, then choose Make an appointment.
