How do I change or remove an external payment account?

To update or change your external payment account information, you'll need to remove the existing information first. Once that's done, then you can add the new information. To remove existing payment account information, follow the steps below. 

Online banking

  1. Select Bill payments and then Manage External Accounts. 
  2. Delete next to the account you'd like to remove.
  3. Choose Yes, Delete to confirm, then Close.

Additional information:

  • ​​​​​​​An external account is an account that isn't with U.S. Bank. 
  • The option to change or remove an external account for payments is only available on the full website. This option is not available on mobile banking.
