Northeast Hair & Company [DOOR CLOSES] [KEY TURNS IN LOCK] [MUSIC PLAYING] KELLY SWENO: Well, I think owning a business together has been great. I mean, we are twin sisters. We're so close. KATE SWENO: We haven't tried to kill each other yet, so it's working. So I'm Kate Sweno. KELLY SWENO: And I'm Kelly Sweno. KATE SWENO: And we own Northeast Hair and Company. KELLY SWENO: In Northeast Minneapolis. Well, we just love this community and neighborhood so much. And we say all the time, too, we're, like, we're never leaving. KATE SWENO: Yeah. We love it here. KELLY SWENO: Yeah. You do say that a lot. I mean, as a-- KATE SWENO: I do. I do. [CHUCKLES] KELLY SWENO: I've lived down the street for the last seven years. And-- KATE SWENO: I moved in three years ago. And then we just came across this space and just loved it. KELLY SWENO: And we wanted to use local artists and people in the community to be involved in our space. I mean, we used local guys for our railings out front. KATE SWENO: But even just like going out, like, meeting these artists that live in the neighborhood, and we want one of them to do the mural on the outside. I think it's just everyone kind of like supporting everyone here in the neighborhood is important. We hired a couple more stylists. KELLY SWENO: We still feel just as busy, even if we're not behind the chair. But I think that's just what happens when you're a business owner, you know. KATE SWENO: Yeah, I think, like, where we see us moving forward would be like open a spa where you can get your nails done or go get a facial. We love Northeast and just everything that it brings.
