Please note: Microsoft Money is no longer available for purchase. If you are a current user, you will no longer have the ability to download transaction data into Money as of November 1, 2010. As of January 31, 2011, you will no longer be able to use any of the features and functions of Microsoft Money.
Q: Can I subscribe to online banking with Quicken® or QuickBooks® software and still access U.S. Bank Internet Banking?
A: Yes. If you're enrolled in U.S. Bank Internet Banking, you can bank online with personal Quicken or QuickBooks software.

Q: Once I apply for U.S. Bank Online with Financial Management Software, how long does it take to set up my account so I can start using it?
A: Once we've received your application, you should receive your start-up kit by mail within 10 business days. The kit includes everything you need to bank online with U.S. Bank. The process is easy and typically takes about an hour to complete.

Q: Will banking online with financial management software help me balance my checking account?
A: Yes. Quicken and QuickBooks include "account reconciliation" features, which update your records every time you download transaction information. Each transaction that’s cleared your account is automatically entered into your computerized "register." So, there's no more waiting for a monthly statement to see where you stand.

Q: Are there fees for banking online with financial management software?
A: Yes. These are the fees associated with Banking Online with Quicken and QuickBooks:

Bank Online with Quicken Fees: 
Banking online with Quicken is free for the first two months and then the following fees apply:

  • Consumer/Sole Proprietor:
    • Online access only: $3.95/month
    • Online access and bill pay: $5.95/month, unlimited payments
  • Corporation, Partnership or Other Entity:
    • Online access only: $9.95/month
    • Online access and bill pay: $14.95/month
    • Extra bill payments over 20/month: $0.50

Bank Online with QuickBook Fees:
U.S. Bank Online with QuickBooks is free for the first month and then the following fees apply:

  • Small Business:
    • Online access only: $12.95
    • Online access and bill pay: $22.95
    • Extra bill payments over 20/month: $0.75

Q: How often is my account information updated?
A: With Quicken or QuickBooks, your information is updated daily Tuesday through Saturday. Your balances and transactions from the previous business day are generally available for downloading into your computer by noon Pacific Time. Transactional data is stored on the system for approximately 60 days or until you retrieve it, whichever comes first.

Q: How safe is my financial information when I bank online?
A: Security and privacy are built into our online banking services. Access to any of these services requires at least a four-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) or Password that only you know. Here are some tips for you so you can maximize the security and confidentiality of your online banking relationship:
  • Choose a PIN or Password that's easy for you to remember but not obvious to someone else. For instance, don't use part of your Social Security Number, phone number or birth date.
  • Change your PIN or Password often. It's easy to do, because it appears on the same screen you use to access your account.
  • Microsoft Money and Quicken software allow you to "lock" your financial file with a password. That creates a second layer of protection for all of your financial records.

Q: Can I import information between Quicken and QuickBooks?
A: Yes. You can import account information from one program to the other. See your software manual or call the software manufacturer's customer support line for more information. You'll also need to call 800-US BANKS (800-872-2657) to make these changes your online banking and financial management software account.

Q: How do the payments I make through my account(s) using financial management software get sent to the payee?
A: For payees who are equipped to receive electronic payments, Online Bill Pay will send your payment electronically. For payees who do not support electronic payments, Online Bill Pay creates and mails the payee a paper check drawn on your account.
