Make the Switch to U.S. Bank Today!
We Make It Easy with EZ Switch
Running your business is hard work and time-consuming. The last thing you want to deal with is a hassle. That's why U.S. Bank created EZ Switch. With EZ Switch, the process of closing your old account is made simple, so you can get your business off to a new start with U.S. Bank.
How to Make the Switch
Just follow these steps to a satisfying banking relationship that offers best in class products and services, business banking expertise and service that's guaranteed!
  1. Visit any U.S. Bank office. Visit any U.S. Bank office and open your new business checking account. We can select the best checking account option for your needs based on your estimated monthly deposit balance and transaction activity.

Write down the routing number and your new business checking account number. You will need this information to change your automatic payments and direct deposits from your old account to your new U.S. Bank Account.

  2. Stop using your old business checking account. Keep the account open until all outstanding checks have cleared and your automatic payments and direct deposits have been switched over to your new U.S. Bank Account.

  3. Switch your direct deposits. This requires a written notification to the company or organization that makes the direct deposit to your account. Some companies require you to use their authorized company form, so you may want to contact them first to determine the procedure. If that's not required, use this Direct Deposit Change Form. Be sure to attach a voided check from your new U.S. Bank Checking Account.

  4. Switch your automatic payments. These are payments such as dues, utility bills and vendor payments that are automatically debited from your account. Contact each of these companies to notify them of your new banking relationship. Have your new checking account number and routing transit number handy when you make the call. If they require written notification to make the switch, use this Automatic Payments Form. Be sure to attach a voided check from your new U.S. Bank Checking Account.

  5. Close your old business account. Once all your checks have cleared and your automatic payments and direct deposits have been switched, close your old account. It's easy! Just use this Request to Close Account Form to notify your old bank.
